Enrollment opens for Tulsa Public Schools Before- and After-Learning Care

The district’s Before- and After-Learning Care program will provide enrichment activities such as group games, STEM activities, art projects, and student-led clubs. The program also provides support with homework assignments and activities that reinforce school-day learning.

Superintendent Deborah Gist said: “We know that our families need the support of reliable, safe, and supportive options for students outside of the school day. With the support of federal recovery funding, we are excited to expand our after-learning program to all elementary schools and provide those services to families free of charge during the 2021-2022 school year.”

After-Learning Care will be offered at 37 elementary schools, with Before-Learning Care available only at Eisenhower International School and Zarrow International School due to their later start times. Before- and After-Learning Care will be available Monday through Friday, following the school calendar. Before-Learning Care will start at 7 a.m. and go until the start of the school day, and After-Learning Care will begin at the end of the school day and last until 6 p.m.

Partner organizations will also provide After-Learning Care at eight additional elementary school sites, ensuring every elementary school offers programming. Families at the following schools will not use SmartChoice to enroll and will receive information directly from their child’s school: Eugene Field, John Hope Franklin, Kendall-Whittier, MacArthur, McClure, and Walt Whitman elementaries; Unity Learning Academy; and Wayman Tisdale Fine Arts Academy.

The deadline to enroll is Monday, July 26. Learn more at www.tulsaschools.org/BALcare.
